The PHOENIX group has opened a new logistics centre for drug packages and other health products in the Šimanovci industrial zone near Belgrade, Serbia. The hub is part of the company’s new cross-border healthcare logistics solution called CEE Bridge, connecting the pharmaceutical industry, wholesale, and retail in Central and Eastern Europe.

The high-bay warehouse near Belgrade Airport is logistically ideal thanks to its location along the main roads that lead to Budapest, Sofia, Skopje, and Zagreb. It has six pallet levels with a total capacity of around 12,000 pallet spaces, including 500 cold storage areas. The building has an overall size of 10,230 square metres of which the modern warehouse space covers 70 per cent. The completion of the project took six months. PHOENIX invested approximately €3 million in the site, which is part of the CEE Bridge along with the hubs in Prague, Czech Republic, and Warsaw, Poland. The CEE Bridge healthcare logistics network is part of All-in-One, PHOENIX group's European service brand with solutions along the entire value chain.
The European healthcare provider expects the investment first and foremost to leverage its business and collaboration with numerous partners in the Western Balkans. From its new location in Belgrade, PHOENIX is going to supply healthcare solutions to the almost 17 million citizens in the following markets: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, and Kosovo.
The new hub ensures that the different needs of the pharmaceutical industry and wholesale customers are met, while complying with all the requirements of the Good Distribution Practices (GDP). Also adhered to are the principles of an integrated management system, environmental protection, health and safety at work, and other regulatory and institutional requirements. With the opening of the Belgrade hub, PHOENIX is significantly reducing the complexity of international logistics processes, which optimises stock levels and ultimately reduces costs.
